For many years, Community PēdsCare® has brought specialized pediatric care and support directly to families in their homes. The opening of the Dorion Family Pediatric Facility expands that care by creating a dedicated pediatric environment where children and families can come together, buildM connections, participate in meaningful activities, and access specialized programs and services.
The Dorion Family Pediatric Center gives families the opportunity to step outside the isolation that can sometimes accompany caring for a child with a serious illness. Here, families can gather with others who understand their experiences, participate in community and family activities, celebrate holidays and special occasions, and create memories together in a safe, welcoming environment.
Whether care happens in the home, at the center, or through a combination of both, Community PēdsCare meets families where they are and provides support throughout their journey.
The Dorion Family Pediatric Center was thoughtfully designed with children and families at heart. It provides a welcoming, child-centered environment where patients, siblings, caregivers, and families can receive support, participate in therapeutic programming, connect with others, and simply enjoy being together.
The facility expands opportunities for care beyond the traditional home setting, offering dedicated spaces for therapy, education, recreation, support groups, family gatherings, and community programming in one location designed specifically for pediatric patients and their loved ones.
Most importantly, the center creates opportunities for families to belong.
Families can come together for activities they might otherwise find difficult to participate in because of medical needs, caregiving responsibilities, mobility challenges, or isolation that can accompany serious illness.
From holiday celebrations and special events to therapeutic activities, support groups, and everyday moments of connection, the center provides families with opportunities to experience community, friendship, joy, and togetherness.
The Dorion Family Pediatric Center serves as a home for our Community PēdsCare services, including a wide range of programs that bring children, siblings, caregivers, and families together throughout their care journey.
Serious childhood illnesses can change the way a family lives. Frequent appointments, complex medical needs, caregiving responsibilities, and accessibility concerns can make it difficult to participate in activities other families may take for granted.
The center provides a place where families can participate in experiences together without having to navigate those challenges alone. Children can play with their siblings. Parents and caregivers can connect with others who understand. Families can celebrate holidays, participate in special events, enjoy therapeutic activities, and make memories together.
These opportunities are more than activities—they are opportunities for connection, belonging, normalcy, and joy.
The Dorion Family Pediatric Center gives children and families a dedicated pediatric environment where they can receive specialized support, participate in meaningful experiences, and connect with others.
It is a place for care.
It is a place for therapy and learning.
It is a place for siblings and caregivers.
It is a place for celebration, remembrance, creativity, and play.
And it is a place where families can come together and feel part of a community.
By bringing specialized services, therapeutic programming, family support, recreation, and community activities together under one roof, while continuing to provide care in the home, Community PēdsCare gives families more choices, more opportunities, and more ways to experience life together.
